ORAK ISLAND

Orak Island
Orak Island

Orak Island is a short distance away from Bodrum in the Gulf of Gokova. It is also relatively close to Cockertme Bay. Your cruise or yacht will most definitely drop anchor here so that you can seize the opportunity to enjoy the sea. You can anchor in the small cove close to the mooring point and dive from either side of the point. Orak Island has one of the best spots for diving in the area due to the stunningly beautiful underwater topography. The water here is cool and calm making it a solid diving experience for the beginner or advanced divers. If you dive from the point facing the Gulf of Gokova, you will find a cave at 32-34 meters deep that are covered with purple sponges.

Even though there is not a high probability of seeing much fish you will still see other types of sea life, such as lobster, sea bass and large thornback rays. While diving or swimming here, it will feel like being inside an exquisite aquarium. There are also some high range hotels and restaurants within the sheltered bays surrounding area should you choose to extend your stay.

When heading back to your cruise set your sail to visit Cokertme Bay, Seven Islands - Kufre and Uzun Liman and Tuzla Bay.
