Koprulu Canyon

The Koprulu Canyon is about 96 kilometres northeast in the province of Antalya. It is 14km in length following along the Kopru River and reaching a maximum height of 400m. The Koprulu Canyon National Park is Turkey’s most popular water sports area. The area is a great place to go hiking, explore ancient ruins and most obviously to enjoy the dramatic Mediterranean scenery. There is an ancient stone bridge that goes over the canyon and is still in use, today and the Ancient City of Selge is only 12kms away from it. While the main road crisscrosses over the clear, flowing river it passes through the virgin forests abundant in cedar and pine trees.

One can also go river rafting here for a thrilling experience for friends or a family. Optimum trekking and mountaineering conditions here make it virtually impossible to resist climbing, exploring or camping in this rugged land. There is a common rest area in case you haven’t brought all your provisions where one can have a nourishing meal at any of the fish restaurants. Don’t forget to bring your camera to take photos of the unbridled scenery here before making your way to explore the rest of the natural riches in Turkey.

Within the province of Antalya, many travellers visit the Manavgat River, Koprucay Canyon and Manavgat Waterfall.
