Ataturk's House Museum

If you are looking to visit the house of the founder and leader of the modern secular Turkish State, look no further at Antalya. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s house where he stayed back in February 1935 has been converted into a museum dedicated to the life and the achievements of this great leader. Located in Central Alanya, near the bazaar one can visit this two-storey house and get a little insight into the life of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

Admission to the house-museum is free. The first floor has different exhibitions rooms with photographs, historical documents, some of his personal belongings and even a telegram sent by Ataturk to the people of Alanya. The photographs are particularly interesting for they depict Ataturk through different stages of his life. While on the top floor there is some furniture from the time showcasing how the wealthy used to live. Most of these personal objects inside the house museum are authentic while the missing ones were eventually replaced with other objects from Kemal’s mausoleum.

From Ataturk’s house, many travellers make their way then to the Antalya Museum or the Antalya Zoo. But if you are looking to refresh yourself and get out of the city for a bit, make your way to
 Duden Waterfall.
