Antiphellos Ancient City
From the coastal town of Kalkan, there are many historical sites to visit. There might not be a lot of ruins left at Antiphellos, but its Hellenistic theatre has a grand sweeping view of the Turkish coast. Built on top of the ancient town of Antiphellos, the peaceful seaside town of Kas still possesses traces of the antique city’s ruins and is a spot of natural beauty whether on land or exploring its sea. Sit and admire the blue sea from the unique limestone-built Hellenistic theatre of Antiphellos, stroll through the narrow lanes up to the ruins of a small temple as well as a number of rock tombs.

Take any of these narrow streets that are perfumed by jasmine flowers until you stumble upon the Lycian sarcophagus that rests right on the main street – sandwiched between charming houses and the market. This is a town known as a leading spot for scuba diving in all of Turkey due to its rich diversity of sea creatures, various historical wreck sites such as an aeroplane from WWII and even artificial wrecks such as Kemal Tufan’s underwater shark sculpture.

From Antiphellos other great ancient cities of Lycia that you should consider adding into your itinerary are Patara Ancient City, Aperlai Ancient City and Apolloni Ancient City.
